Jakarta, March 24, 2025 – As part of its commitment to environmental sustainability, PT Erajaya Swasembada Tbk, through PT Erafone Artha Retailindo (“erafone”), is launching the Erafone Jaga Bumi program. This initiative aims to encourage the public to manage electronic waste (e-waste) in a more responsible manner. The program runs from February 27 to April 27, 2025, across 10 selected erafone stores in the Greater Jakarta area (Jabodetabek).
According to the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), as cited by Waste4Change, Indonesia produces 2 million tons of e-waste annually, but only 17.4% is processed through official recycling systems. E-waste contains hazardous substances like mercury and lead, which can contaminate soil and water and pose serious health risks. Through the Erafone Jaga Bumi movement, the public now has a safe and easy solution for disposing of old electronics responsibly.
Erajaya Group’s Commitment to Sustainability
Rezza Lazuardi Pramata, Head of CSR at Erajaya Group, stated that this program is part of Erafone’s commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.

To ensure safe and responsible recycling, erafone is partnering with professional e-waste management organizations to handle all collected devices using approved recycling methods.
Actor and eco-warrior Ramon Y. Tungka, who attended the event, expressed his support for the initiative:
“As tech users, we all share responsibility for the waste we generate. I appreciate erafone’s efforts—not just doing business, but also caring for the environment by providing a real solution like this. I hope more people join this movement,” he said.
How to Participate & What Consumers Get
Consumers can participate by bringing used gadgets—such as laptops, tablets, smartphones, or old mobile phones—to participating erafone stores that feature a dedicated dropbox. The steps are simple:
- Drop your e-waste into the designated box.
- Fill in your personal details to receive an exclusive reward.
- Get a shopping voucher worth Rp100,000 for laptops, smartphones, and tablets, or Rp50,000 for old mobile phones (limited-time promo).
This initiative is available from February 27 to April 27, 2025, initially at 10 erafone stores in Jakarta equipped with drop boxes. Throughout the year, erafone plans to expand this program by installing 25 to 50 drop boxes across its five operating regions.
